TheChallenge

The Natural History Museum was seeking ways to elevate the visitor experience while increasing revenue. The main retail space felt disconnected from the exhibitions and lacked the elegance of the wider building. The challenge was to create a retail and spatial offer worthy of the museum’s cultural and architectural stature.

TheSolution

We reimagined the permanent retail space as a continuation of the exhibition journey, blending scientific wonder with sophisticated design. Materials, layout and storytelling were all considered with care. Success here led to further involvement, helping the museum transform key communal areas, including the main foyer, into high-value, after-hours event and retail environments.

TheOutcome

The new store set a fresh benchmark for museum retail, drawing praise from staff, visitors and press. It unlocked new revenue potential and established a blueprint for future space development across the building. The foyer transformation further cemented the museum’s commercial and cultural evolution, without compromising integrity for future opportunities.
